Pipework

Repair What Can Be Repaired. Replace What Cannot.

Pipes do not last forever. Over time they can corrode, crack, wear at the joints or simply reach the end of their useful life. A single leak is sometimes a one-off fault, but it can also be an early sign that a longer run of pipework needs attention.

At KV Heating & Plumbing, we look at the whole picture before recommending anything. Where a neat repair will do the job, we will say so. Where replacement makes better sense, we will explain why and what it involves.

Our aim is simple: a sound, tidy result that you can rely on, explained in plain English and quoted clearly before the work begins.

Assess properly

We check the condition of the pipework, not just the fault you can see.

Explain clearly

You get plain-English advice on repair or replacement.

Finish neatly

Tidy workmanship with the work tested before we leave.

Making the call

Should the Pipe Be Repaired or Replaced?

There is no single answer. We look at a handful of things before advising:

The condition of the pipe

Whether the fault is isolated or repeated

How much of the run is affected

Pipe repair FAQs

Can't see yours? Call or message us and we'll happily help.

How do I know if a pipe needs repairing or replacing?

A small, isolated fault on otherwise sound pipework can often be repaired. If the pipe is badly corroded, has leaked repeatedly or is in poor condition along its length, replacement is usually the better option. We inspect it first and explain which route makes sense.

What are the signs of a failing or corroded pipe?

Common signs include visible corrosion or staining on the pipe, discoloured water, repeated leaks in the same area, damp patches near pipework, reduced water pressure and knocking or banging noises.

Do you repair heating pipes as well as water pipes?

Yes. We work on water supply pipework and on the pipes serving radiators and central heating systems, as well as pipework linked to bathrooms and kitchens.

Will replacing pipework make a mess?

We plan the work to keep disruption as low as reasonably possible and protect your property while we work. If we need to lift a floorboard or open up a small area to reach a pipe, we explain this first.

Can you re-route pipework as part of a project?

Yes. Pipework can often be altered or re-routed as part of a bathroom, kitchen or heating project. We will discuss what is possible once we have seen the existing layout.

How do I get a quotation?

Call or WhatsApp us, or use the quote button, and tell us what you have noticed. We will talk through the problem and explain the next step. Quotations are clear, so you know what the work involves before it starts.
